About Portixeddu
Portixeddu beach (Spiaggia di Portixeddu) lies between Buggerru and Portixeddu just south of Scivu beach, and is one of the best beaches in the area.
Portixeddu village, just north of the beach, lies at the foot of a hill next to a small cliff overlooking the hillside, offering a breathtaking view of the sea and a seemingly endless white beach that is nearly 2.5 kilometers long. Given its sheer length, Portixeddu beach is perfect for long walks and jogging in the early morning or after sunset.
Part of Portixeddu beach is bordered by dunes, with forests of pines, oaks and junipers offering shelter during hot summer days. In this area of Sardinia, the Mistral wind is a well known guest, making Portixeddu beach another surfer’s paradise on Sardinia. Thanks to its large size the beach is hardly ever crowded, even during high season.
Since the beach faces due west, it’s one of the best sunset beaches of Sardinia.

How To Get To Spiaggia di Portixeddu
From Cagliari, take the Strada Statale 130 to Iglesias. Near Iglesias, head north by taking the Strada Statale to Fluminimaggiore. After passing Fluminimaggiore, take the left exit to Buggerru, along the Rio Mannu river. Portixeddu beach is 6 kilometers up ahead.
