San Giovanni di Sinis
San Giovanni di Sinis beach (Spiaggia di San Giovanni di Sinis) is located along the seaside village of San Giovanni di Sinis, roughly 17 kilometers south of Putzu Idu beach, and near the small village of Funtana Meiga. San Giovanni di Sinis beach extends for approximately 4 kilometers along the western side of the peninsula of Sinis (Penisola del Sinis). It is mostly composed of fine sand, with some presence of stony sediments and quartz grains. San Giovanni di Sinis beach is surrounded by a great variety of environments and landscapes, including fossil sand cliffs up to 10 meters high that are known as the “steps of the beach”. San Giovanni di Sinis beach has a large car park that is suitable for camping vehicles. There are many restaurant and cafes in the nearby area. This beach too is a popular surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling spot. If you happen to be in the province of Oristano, this certainly is one of the most beautiful places to visit.
How To Get To San Giovanni di Sinis
Coming from Oristano, head in the direction of Cuglieri. At the first intersection near Santuario del Rimedio, take the elevated road section and follow the signposts for Tharros. After 20 kilometers, you'll reach the car park of the archaeological area of Tharros. San Giovanni di Sinis beach can be found on the right.
